Door To Door Child Literacy campaign

The organization had a campaign of equipping children in the slum areas with basic literacy. Some of these children have never gone to school, others dropped out at an early age.

So the organization teaches them in their homes by going door to door. We buy them scholastic materials because their parents are too poor to buy them.

Our staff and volunteers go out to these slums on specific days and teach them. We have equipped some households with skills that can help them start up small businesses so as to be able to support their children in formal schools.

CAMPAIGN OBJECTIVES

To equip and improve the literacy of vulnerable children in the slums of Kampala-Uganda.

HOW THE OBJECTIVES WERE ACHIEVED

The staff and volunteers and student teachers went out to the slums to teach the children in literacy.

Some of these children have never gone to school because their parents couldn't afford the fees.

The other children dropped out of schools at an early age because of lack of fees. We equipped some of their parents with skills which they could use to start up small business to take their children to formal schools at a another level.
