The Postgraduate for Chile Foundation is the largest meeting point of digital scholarship for postgraduate and language courses for Chileans interested in pursuing studies and acquire tools of development work abroad.
Promote better access to information about scholarships in various areas, creating greater opportunities for both professionals and technicians, while being more inclusive with the socially vulnerable.
This is done through the use of innovative technologies at the service of society tools, through which the democratization of access to timely information, strengthening the language question and reducing the gaps of knowledge in Chile is reached.
Our ultimate goal is to contribute to the development of Chile through an improvement in the quality of life of advanced human talent, with a comprehensive approach in all fields, with emphasis on seven strategic areas for the country: sport, culture, arts, social, science and technology, environment and productivity.
The campaign objectives are to ensure the spread of best postgraduate scholarships and language courses for Chileans that are presented throughout the world.
Therefore a platform calls for possible scholarships or free courses is enabled so that any citizen could access them and then to study in a foreign country that suits them or continue their improvement.
It also seeks to bring postgraduate gratuity to all Chileans, whether technical or professional; so they can continue their development in the area that perform as individuals.
HOW THE OBJECTIVES WERE ACHIEVED
More than 10 reports and news on the subject were created, which allowed a range of more than 25,000 visits in the 6 month campaign.
There was also a significant increase in applications from scholarships Chilean Embassies represented in our country, foreign institutions also manage scholarships in their respective countries and foreign universities which received applications from Chileans who had never applied before.
On the other hand through consultancies, we Chileans were formed with free online courses allowing them to improve skills that they had and new language skills.
The campaign is innovative in itself, because in our country there is no concept of a digital meeting point of fellowships to incorporate all available information to make improvements in Chile or abroad.
On the other hand, through the help of Google and its donation through Ad Grants, it allowed us to have an arrival to the target audience very quickly and also through social networks.
In another aspect, our innovation was to integrate the objectives of sustainable development to campaign for better education in our area of graduate programs supported by the United Nations system (UNESCO, UNDP).
Finally, we believe that the campaign was groundbreaking because we coined a new concept which is the subject of postgraduate gratuity.
- More than 25,000 hits on our website.
- More than 7,000 'likes' on Facebook.
- 300 Chilean scholarship for advice.
- 150 postgraduate foreigners to study in Chile.
- 10 reports in newspapers across Chile.
- 5 TV news inserts.
We had many challenges such as support entrepreneurship that helped us to know what the needs and demands of the candidates are when it comes to choosing the destination and scholarship that's applicable.
On the technology side, it involved a triple challenge; since all of our tools are based on the digital world. But there was a tremendous commitment technology equipment and volunteers to push through our system and better able to support developments.
Finally, there were many challenges for resources; Foundation as recent as we were and it was very difficult to get support from private or government institutions with so little time to show results. But the serious and constant work of the team of volunteers and professionals, which decisively influenced excellent results prevailed.
The most important lesson we learned was to form multidisciplinary teams, which all contribute from our knowledge and expertise of the Foundation; assistance from their administrative duties to the president from his strategic view.
On the other hand, we learned to build networks with other social enterprises that could bring us education from their work areas and be a contribution to the formation of a chain of mutual support.
Finally, we could introduce ourselves to foreign institutions that offer scholarships as strategic partners and not as competition, putting at their disposal; so we learned to work in a collaborative model economy where collaboration is better than competition.
